I'll be the first to point it out. The last panel of Sunday's comic (8/8/04) is a reference to a classic Calvin and Hobbes. (*edit* Actually, Doug's reply on the second-to-last panel is part of the reference too!)

Time for a bunch of replies all at once!
How many readers do I have? I'm actually not really sure. I've read several different explanations of the whole "file/site/visit" who-ha, but they still just don't tell me which one to get a good estimate.
Guest comics can do really well with the right comic. I did one for RPG World, and that doubled my readers. Combined with the people drawn in from the Keenspace book thing, those numbers haven't been declining. So YAY to that. I've got a few ideas to get people to come in and see the comic, but I'll always look into new ones.
Yes, that Sunday comic (8/8/04) was a Calvin & Hobbes homage. There's even a picture of the two over Phil's head. And yes, I like that super smile in (8/11/04), which I also used in the Keenspace book add on someone as well. Reminds me of the original homestrarrunner look when he was talking.

VRS? Isn't is "vs."?

Darn those homophones, they got me again.
I think vrs is short for verses (as in Bible and Hymnal verses), while vs is short for versus (as in fighting). I use the first far more, so I guess I’m just more used to that. Also, I think vrs looks cooler. So there!

Ha ha! You don't get the whale in the rainbow joke because you're not old enough! Every once in a while Lucky Charms does a limited time deal in the marshmallows. I'm sure you remember the recent stuff like the doors with the keys, or the magic snow globes, and tons of other crazy things every other month. Well, they didn't used to have that many extra marshmallows. But in the mid-80s they had an uber-special whale marshmallow. And for promotion, they had a multi part commercial (back in the day when cereal commercials were downright sagas) where a whale got stuck in Lucky's rainbow and they had to save it. Want to know more? Read Matt of X-Entertainment's article about it. However, be WARNED OF EXPLICIT LANGUAGE AHEAD. www.x-entertainment.com/updates/entries/archives/00000231.html

I was born in 1989, so I guess I wouldn't, heh.
But I do know that the Heart Marshmallow was the only one that was never dropped from the line-up of marshmallows. It started when the cereal first came and is still going strong today.
Actually, the Marshmallows were the only part of the cereal I liked, the cereal itself was just disgusting.

Whoa... is that really how it ends?

No, I seriously doubt everyone in the Harry Potter series will die. The comic was playing off the idea that lots of people are saying Harry Potter's going to die for some strange reasons. Even more so, lots of internet communities are always trying to figure who will die through tearing the book apart and looking for anything they can use.
And on the other end of the spectrum, lots of people are trying to figure out who's going to marry whom, hence Doug's statement. Ultimatly nobody know's how it's going to end but the author, but she's not going to tell.

Well folks, he’s what’s been up with my poor webcomic. It’s not the move that’s caused all these delays. It’s just at the same time my work schedule changed. Now I’m working more at earlier hours, so I’m still trying to get PLT into my new schedule. Plus my scanner still isn’t working, so when I do get some comics made I have a harder time getting them on. But by next week I’m going to have this all sorted out. At least I better. Tiss not right for a webcomic to become so unreliable. It’s about fast food, not like fast food. Ah ha ha … I kid, I kid.
