Same old, same old.
I had to head off on a nice twelve hour trip this weekend, so I didn't have time to look at my broken scanner. I have tomorrow ... well, later today off of work, so I'll be posting up comics one by one as I either finally fix that dang blasted thing or go back to the other way I was using it again.
Now go see Spider-Man 2 while you wait.

Monday's strip reminds me of a Calvin adn Hobbes strip EXACTLY... I'll scan it here if I find it.

Why yes, now that I think about it. Calvin's Dad was thinking about how life was too short to spend it all at the office. Calvin puts bugs in the shampoo, so his Dad goes to work to enjoy himself.
And as always, I never intentionally copy or rip off other comics. I don't page through other people's work going "Oh I can use THAT gag, I'm sure they've never seen this!" Don't jump out yelling plagiarism every time you see a comic similar to another (not just PLT either). More then one person CAN think of the same joke, and other times someone things he thought up a good joke when in fact they heard it five years ago and don’t’ remember it anymore.
I’ve never set off to use someone else’s comics or gags or anything, and I never will. I set off to make my own comic for fun and I don’t think it’s any fun if I just rip off someone else’s hard work. There are nights when I stare into space for an hour till I work a strip to the way I like it. So if you ever see a PLT that reminds you of something else you’ve seen, go “weird” or “oopes”, not “cheater!!”

I thought that comic was pretty funny.
Oh, and I smell another weekly story brewing.

Heh...I guess it can be like that if you're writing it late at night, when you're tired.

Steet!?! Aww man, I had it highlighted too. Silly me.
And yes, a new TMBG album is rocking my house. It is indeed their silliest album yet, with many awesome tracks on it. And I didn't even know it was coming out till the day after. Shame on me.

Today's strip is one of the more very interesting strips.
I'm pretty sure the anime Mel was talking was "Cowboy Bebop" and the episode he referrenced was "Pierrot le Fou", yes? That episode was odd, but nice.

Wasn't one of the Managers from the Fast Food convention Father from Codename: Kids Next Door? You know, ominous-looking guy, has a pipe, he's a walking fireball...

People hardly come here anymore.....It's sad, really....

Not as sad as the number of readers! Ah ha ha ha! Oh .... I've made myself sad.
Seriously, the forums aren't really talkative, but it was doing better then I thought it would so YAY! It could be a great video game talk place, but even I forget about posting game reviews and such (and I get too many, too). I'll probably rework the forums to accommodate this, but we'll see.
I really like the idea of having a forum so I'm not chucking it yet. If I were to chuck everything that didn't start off with huge support, then I would chuck the comic strip itself! Ah ha ha ha ha!
Oh .... I made myself sad again.
Horray for Furutama quotes!

I wouldn't worry about the forum, myself... I run my own webcomic, and I'm also cursed with a somewhat dead forum. I've talked about it with a friend, and she said that most comics tend to have a dead-type forum, the big popular ones excepted. It's sucky, but them's the breaks. Now, if you want to get more readers and/or publicity, you could consider joining some webcomic communities. I don't know what your attitude towards them are, but it'd be a good place to talk and get exposure. Or there's the ever-ubiquitous fanart/guest comics route, but I don't know how successful those tend to be (Out of curiosity, do you offhand know how many readers you do have?) Anyway... vis a vis today's comic, or rather, the latest one I see... ok, that's twisted, combining SpongeBob and, I guess, Gir from Invader Zim? (I have NEVER seen Invander Zim, we don't get specialty channels in this house ) But then again, this is what I like about this comic, the ability to seamlessly integrate bizarre pop-culture stuff in with bizarre stick figure people
