Have you thought about doing a strip or even a story arc based around Konami's Bemani series of music rhythm games? There's more to it than just Dance Dance Revolution, in fact, pop'n music is by far the most popular in Japan of all the series. Beatmania IIDX is second most I believe. Beatmania is coming out in the US in March. I really want the game to do well in the US so any publicity is good Beatmania IIDX is pretty hardcore and you need to really practice for a long time to get even just "good" at it. This is perfect for someone like Doug. Seriously, I've been thinking about it all day. Doug would be like "oh what is THIS? crazy insane!" Andy, if you did a strip or even strips about Bemani it'll give me an EXCELLENT excuse to spam the comic in various forums with huge fanbases on the Bemani series. Fact is, most of the Bemani community just makes SO MANY PUNS about the songs, artists, everything about the Bemani games. It is a great source for funny, especially in a strip like Phil Likes Tacos. I'll be willing to help you write some strips and get you in the "know". You'll get an boost in readership, I guarantee it!

Hmmm ... I've heard of this game before, most of it being off your Live Journal and web sites. And everybody knows about DDR. What I HAVE been thinking about making some rhythm based game strips, mostly because of Guitar Heroes. Doug with a rock guitar is funny.
But Doug with a turn table based game ... hmm hmm HMM hmm hmmmmm ... that would actually work into a major PLT storyline I've thought up that'll come into play ... oh, I dunno, two years from now (no I don't plan that far ahead in ALL the comics, just plot wise ones).
The Doug helping Phil buy a new computer story is ending, and next week I was planing on either a random week or Happy Tacos week. I could see a rhythm based week that turns into a Beatmania week after that. I could elaborate more, but that would spoil some things I'm planning, mwaa ha ha. So yeah, I’ll look into it.
PS, I haven't brought it up yet because it hasn't happened much, but I do take strip ideas in the form of "could you to this game or this show " into consideration. Because half of the strip I devote to fast food humor I can only do so many video game ones. So if there's ever one you'd really really REALLY like to see, let me know, and I'll see if I can squeeze one or two in.

ANyways, whatever you decide. It's your strip. I'm just some guy who will be extatic when a obscure game gets mentioned in an obscure comic strip and will go nuts spamming it on forums

I wonder if it is possible to eat a taco with Spam instead of normal meat.

Hmm, I wonder if there was any noticible increase in readership.

It did go up in February, but not by much. The comic still has a low readership, at least, I think it does. I have a hard time figuring out site statistics. Out of Hits, Files, Pages, and Visits, I think visits are the ones that are the closest to the actual number of different people coming to the site.
