Wow, I saw this movie on Friday and boy is it good. Forget about the original one, that was a happy laughing mystical one. This one is weirder, funnier, and far more imaginative. They also added some stuff to make Willy Wonka a more rounded character. And everyone, from Johnny Depp to the guy who did ALL the Oompa Loompas did a fantastic job. Elfman has made another fantastic score full of vocals, instrumentals, and techno like. And of course, Burten’s film is full of eye candy (wow, a pun that wrote itself) and good old crazy humor.
A great film for the whole family. I highly recommend it!

YAY! Saw it today and it was soooo much better than the original! I like the beginning when the puppets were dancin around and melting. The oompa loompas weren't as scary as they were in the 1st one (not orange and white eyebrowed). I also saw a Goblet of Fire preview as well in the theater.

Blast! I never get any good previews. I guess you need to be in a really big city, the ones that have half an hour of comercials when the movie starts.
And while the first chocolate factory was good, this one just had so much more imagination. And it all worked together too! They updated it (Mike Tevea was into computers and video games) without making it feel like it was forced. And it was funny, have I mentioned that?
And no, I didn't get HP:HBP at mignight, I got it early early morning where I could get it cheep ($16.16 including tax). So far, so good!

I still haven't seen the movie. I plan to some time soon though. It's been on my list of movies to actually see in theaters for awhile.
EDIT: I saw it earlier today, and thought it was great. I also like how it didn't stray away from the novel as much as the original movie did (The squirrels that through Veruca into the garbage were in the novel, the scene in the original movie with the golden eggs was not.)
Oh, and I saw a preview for Tim Burton's next movie. That looks cool too.

A group of friends and I are planning to see it in Imax at the Mall of Georgia. I can't wait to see it.

There already is a Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe movie. I would rather have them make other movies for those Chronicles of Narnia books. The lion the witch and the wardrobe isnt as good as the other ones in that series, in my opinion.

Yeah. True. I think they may be trying to make the series, though.
Back to Charlie. The IMAX was utterly amazing! Wow...just wow! It won't be the same on the smaller big screen. I cannot wait to see it again! Squee!

I was amazed. When I go into the IMAX and the lights go down the magic begins. One second I was in the theater hot and sweaty and trying to cool of from the heat and the next second I felt the hair on the back of my neck stick up. I really liked the movie and thought it was true to the book most of the time. I actually like how Tim Burton tweaked it a little and gave a history to Willy's uniqueness.

I'd just like to say that I'm completely in love with this movie. It's been a while since I've found a movie like this, and I just absolutely love it. Every little thing about it. I've seen it 3 times now, each time as enjoyable as before. Burton has made a wonderful film.

My friend at church thought it would be horrible because Tim Burton directed it but she loved it. I just told her he is a GENIUS! She looked at me funny and passed it off as one of those weird obsessions I have.
