Yes, its what everybody is waiting for. The Next Generation of consoles! Now we have here the Nintendo Revolution/N5, the x-box360, and of course the ps3.
The Nintendo Revolution, in my opinion, is sounding pretty good. This time , the nintendo probably will feature rubbing controllers (like the DS) along with the traditional buttons as well. It will also have Internal memory/a hard drive. Nintendo also has a patent on fixation points, which will make the graphics very good and viewing them more simple.
The X-box360 and ps3, which I havent researched much, will release next year most likely, and maybe the 360 earlier. The ps3 has a mega super Cell Chip, which will enchance the ps3 making easier to do more jobs at once or something.

Man, I just got a Gamecube a couple months ago, and now they're coming out with another system? I hope they still make games for GCN. When that just came out, they stopped with the N64 games and I was sad.

Oh boy, what a great topic! Here I go!
There might be a few Gamecube games made after the Revolution launches. There's a few Dreamcast games being released every so often in Japan.
As of this moment, the Xbox360 is launching November-ish. The PS3 is currently looking at an early 2006, and Nintendo wants to launch the Rev around that time as well.
On Thursday (5/12) Microsoft unveiled the Xbox360 on MTV. Well, it really wasn't an unveiling; it was more of a rumor confermer. It's going to be white, the size of the original Ps2, optional removable hard drive, wireless controllers, super online content, and more.
We don't know much about the Revolution yet, but we do know a few things. The system is going to be sleek and small, about the size of three DVD cases (which makes a hard drive doubtful unless it's really small.) It can play Gamecube games. It's going to be Wi-Fi out of the box so systems around the world can connect (emphasis on connect) for free. It's going to be about as powerful as the Xbox360. It's going to have DVD format disks and play DVD movies. Whatever the controller is going to be, it'll be wireless. And it's probably not going to have the standard control pad or A/B buttons.
Everything else on the Rev is a rumor. Some have said it'll have gyroscopic controllers. Some have said a DS like touch screen. Some have said it's a squeezing thing with advanced force feedback. Whatever it is, it seems that there's going to be more to the system then just the controller to make it a "revolutionary" system. We might be talking about whole new ways of playing and genres here. And since most of the Xbox360 games are sports, racing, and first person shooters with better graphics, I think Nintendo might be on to something.
And I really don't know much about the Ps3.
Overall, I'm really interested in the Revolution the most by far. If I were an online player, I'd be more excited about the Xbox360, though we'll see next week at E3 if Nintendo will have an even better service for FREE. Although I am a little worried about a new way to play games, since its taken the Nintendo DS several months to really take off, I have great hope in the Rev. Nintendo seems to be finally getting their act together in making a system that's more mainstream, but not as mainstream to be rocking out with small named stars on MTV and trying to be cool.
But it's about the games, so we'll see what's up with them. Nintendo has always made my favorite ones, so they have that going for them.
Is it next week yet? E3 done be big.

I'm always pessimistic about new consoles. It happened for Gamecube, and now I'm not so sure about Revolution. It plays GCN games, which is certainly a plus, but I counted on Nintendo to not add DVD capabilities. It always makes the cost of the system high, and I have a DVD player already. That's why I don't have a PS2, yet my favorite video game is Gitaroo Man.
But if I pretend that I'm rich, it definately sounds like Revolution will be the best console yet!

Actually, some MP3 players (Such as the iPod) have harddrives in them. Others rely on flash memory. So, a harddrive something that small is very possible.
As for E3, I have friends there who are going to call me, so I get to hear what it's like there.

Iv'e heard rumors that they are going to continue support with gamecube for a while after the Nintendo Revolution emerges, but just like everything else, they are all rumors.

I'm a dedicated Zelda fan so I am definatly never gonna leave nintendo. That would be cool if they made another Rampage game like they did for 64 (did they make one for GC?). I am also a Metroid fan too. But how are they going to make these games playable for the revolution if they are gonna have rubbing or touch sensitive controllers? Maybe old GC controllers will fit in the Rvs controller ports?

Oh, it gets even better for the Revolution (that's its official name now). Through there online service, you'll be able to download every Nintendo game made, from the NES to the GC. Although the online service is free, we don't know yet if the downloading of the games will be. Also, Super Smash Brothers Online will be a launch title. I'm sold at that! Have you seen the shots for the Revolution? That this is TINY! It looks a little plain, but at least it doesn't look like a giant scanner/copier (I'm looking at you PS3 with your big old boomerang). They also revealed a new Gameboy Micro, a much smaller version of the Gameboy Advance. But since all they added was a true backlit screen, smaller size, and a headphone jack I really don't see a need for it. I'd rather take the SP as is. Anyway, take a look, won't you? www.gamespot.com/news/2005/05/17/screenindex_6125078.html

Well I don't know about Dling GC games, but definatly NEs-64 games will be DL-able. I just dont think I'll have good enough internet to go online. (I have Dial Up. It sucks.)
But I am definitally buyin' this. I have faith in Nintendo. Nintendo is gonna strike back. Now lets see if Iwata is gonna show what else this Revolution is gonna be at E3 '05.
Believe it or not I'm watching E3! I never thought I'd get in so easily. Watching G4 in my comfortable chair. Believe it or not, its E3!

Dang, the Revolution is tiny! When I first saw a picture of it without a hand picking it up, I was thinking old PS2 size. Wow, SSB will be online? Now they're just making me suffer.

It’s starting to sound like Nintendo fans are going to have their patience tested in a way they never have before. Although Nintendo hasn’t given a launch date (or really much else) on the Revolution (I guess it’s NOT the final name), some are saying that they might do what they did with the DS and launch it on a November time slot … in 2006.
That’s not good. The Xbox360 is scheduled for this Thanksgiving (a year before Nintendo’s) and the Playstation 3 this spring (kind of like the PSP now that I think about it). I have a bad feeling many games just might give up and by the fancy popular systems instead of waiting for a system that they don’t even know how to play yet. But the worst part? Nintendo will have no major support other then the DS next year. If support for the Gamecube are this bad now, what are they going to be like when two more powerful systems are out? And although it’s still selling well, the GBA sales are slowing down, so that might not be as strong by then. Though the Gameboy Micro might pick up some more sales.
Though there are SOME good news for such a late launch. It’s in a very profitable time (Christmas sales), and it’ll be the new cool thing to own. Since it’ll be a year after its launch, the Revolution could be as/more powerful as the Xbox360 (Nintendo’s going for a really small, quiet, efficient system).
Obviously, this is all just speculation. None of this has been confirmed by Nintendo, it’s just some educated theories. At first it was “around PS3” and then “2006”, so who knows. So I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what Nintendo will do when they show all of the Revolution before the end of the year. Then we’ll know when we’ll have our Smash Brothers Online, as well as those old NES games you’ve been missing.

The thing I wanna know is if you will need mega-fast Internet for the Revolution. I or my parents can't pay $50 for Internet! Maybe since it might be released late next year, it will have the best online setup of all the Next-Gen Consoles. Maybe since it might come late next year it will be like a tiny hyperdrive? Dang Rumors.
Come on Nintendo, I believe in you.

Sorry, no 56k for the Revolution. It's WiFi only, so you need fast broadband internet with a WiFi adapter to send/receive info with the system. I’m going to have up upgrade myself to accommodate such speeds. Fortunately for the DS, you can use WiFi hotspots, and my nearby mall has that for free.
And yes, it'll probably have the best online plan - FREE! At least for Nintendo stuff. They're probably going to let third party companies charge if they want to so it's more enticing. But to play Nintendo's game online will be no charge, and downloading their past games will probably be dirt cheap. Just these things alone are already making it worth it.
